Exposure! (part 1)

When was the last time you saw someone buy a painting at a restaurant?

You have seen these restaurants with art hanging up all over the place, complete with titles, prices, etc. "But you'll get great exposure!" says the owner.
People go to restaurants to eat, not to buy art. Some art fairs and festivals and similar; they promise "exposure" while artists' pay exorbitant booth fees. Vanity art websites, charity events where artists are asked to donate work, restaurants that want your art to dress up their walls for free; these artists are not selling their work at these venues. This all adds up to that fact that art buyers buy art at places that sell art. Keyword is sell. If you can find a restaurant with waitstaff that knows how to sell art, give me a call.
Cheers,
